MediWork$ Expands to Milwaukee Through Longstanding Partner Employ Milwaukee

Seattle, WA — CareerWork$, a national workforce development nonprofit dedicated to advancing
Equitable Economic Mobility announced today the expansion of its MediWork$ healthcare career
training program in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in partnership with Employ Milwaukee and the Center
for Healthcare Careers of Southeast Wisconsin.

MediWork$ connects individuals to lasting, stable careers in non-clinical healthcare through
accessible, employer-aligned training. Launched in 2017 and currently delivered in Seattle and Los
Angeles, the program prepares job seekers for administrative healthcare roles that require a high
school diploma or equivalent, but not a college degree.

Through this new collaboration, Employ Milwaukee and the Center for Healthcare Careers of
Southeast Wisconsin
will deliver MediWork$ locally, extending access to industry-informed
healthcare training across the region. Classes are scheduled to begin on April 14.

MediWork$ was developed in direct collaboration with healthcare employers to meet hiring
demand for roles such as customer service representative, medical records specialist, medical
secretary, and appointment scheduler. The curriculum emphasizes real-world workplace skills,
industry expectations, and direct employer connections.

“We are proud to expand MediWork$ to Milwaukee through our strong partnership with Employ
Milwaukee and the Center for Healthcare Careers of Southeast Wisconsin,” said Latoya Edmond,
Executive Director of CareerWork$. “This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to building
career pathways that connect job seekers to meaningful healthcare careers while strengthening
regional talent pipelines.”

Employ Milwaukee has been a longstanding CareerWork$ partner, currently delivering BankWork$
programming in the region. The addition of MediWork$ deepens that partnership and broadens
healthcare workforce pathways within Southeast Wisconsin.

“We are excited to bring MediWork$ to our community,” said Julie Cayo, President and CEO of
Employ Milwaukee. “This program opens doors to in-demand healthcare careers and reinforces our
commitment to building career pipelines that work for job seekers and employers alike.”
Together, the partners are expanding access to healthcare careers while reinforcing a stronger,
more responsive regional talent pipeline.
