Who is CareerWork$?
CareerWork$® connects young adults from under-resourced communities to lasting, stable careers through free training and builds supportive partnerships advancing equitable economic stability.
Our programs create career opportunities.
BankWork$® started in Los Angeles in 2006 in partnership with JVS SoCal with one class, a few bank partners, and 10 graduates. Since then, our program has expanded to include more than 80 banks, 13 cities, and has helped launch over 4000+ careers in banking.
Our free training program provides the skills needed for career-growth positions like teller, customer service representative, relationship banker, and personal banker.
CareerWork$ Medical® connects candidates with roles in non-clinical healthcare, creating opportunities for advancement and promotion. Over eight weeks, young adults prepare for non-clinical roles that can launch careers in healthcare, such as customer service representative, patient service coordinator, family support specialist, and medical insurance biller.
CareerWork$® Ready provides community organizations with curricula to offer virtual or in-person training for job seekers in underserved communities. CareerWork$ Ready focuses on hard skills, such as resume writing and interview practice, and the people and communication skills needed to land and keep a job. Job coaches support students through the process step by step.
These independently validated outcomes are the result of an analysis conducted by Kinetic West in April 2020 using BankWork$ participant data from YWCA Seattle from 2014 and 2015. Wage growth and employment rate data are from Washington State’s Employment Services Department’s unemployment insurance database.
